Here are some things to know about me:

• I write provocative little essays about cinema.

• Sometimes I try to change your mind about something. Other times, I try to change my own.

• I may write about something you already know but have struggled to articulate. I like it when people say this.

• I try to read a book for every couple of essays. So, if you subscribe, you’ll eventually get familiar with hundreds of different books spanning film art, craft, history, and more. That’s pretty cool.

• I try to publish every other Tuesday. Occasionally, I fail. Sorry about that.

• I can get quite nerdy and earnest. Sorry about that, too.

• If you like me, you can send me money.

• In my other life, I’m writing a book. It is not film-related. But also it kind of is. I’ll tell you about it later.
